YOGASOURCE LOS GATOS OPENS PREMIER SOUTH BAY YOGA STUDIO
LOS GATOS, CALIF., NOVEMBER 6, 2006 – YogaSource of Los Gatos recently announced that, commencing January 1st, 2007, it is moving its award winning Yoga classes from its current location at 227 North Santa Cruz Avenue to a larger, more accessible location at 15545 Los Gatos Boulevard, next to Kinko's. YogaSource Los Gatos is the South Bay's premier yoga studio, as evidenced by lengthy waiting lists for classes and numerous awards from Metro Magazine , The Wave , City Sports and San Jose Magazine awarded since its opening in 1992.
Inspired by Balinese architecture, coupled with attention to detail, the new 4000 square feet location is one of the most spectacular examples of Yoga studio design in the country, combining slate, travertine, bamboo, and teak with water features, high ceilings and natural light. "I loved working on this project..," says Jenny Morse, the principal at AP+I Design of Mountain View, CA, "...the challenge was to create a luxurious space while meeting the standards of the Green Yoga Association for earth-friendly materials and practices. The natural answer was Balinese design and I am thrilled with the outcome!"
The new location boasts the largest yoga practice space in the South Bay with state of the art ventilation, heat and sound, which will facilitate workshops with the most recognizable names of modern yoga. Until now, yoga enthusiasts have had to travel to Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA to attend conferences and workshops. As the premier yoga hub of the South Bay, YogaSource will provide a new Mecca for Silicon Valley yoga practitioners.
Current classes offered include Power Yoga, Foundations of Power Yoga, and Hot Yoga. The new schedule which commences January 1st will also include an hour of Power Yoga at noon and 6:30am Hot Yoga classes every weekday. YogaSource Los Gatos is also adding Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga classes for students seeking a less physically challenging and more therapeutic Yoga experience. "I've been looking for a way to add classes that appeal to a more mature audience, but could not find the right teacher, so I was very excited when Cindy Walker, a renowned Bay Area instructor, contacted me to get onboard and lead the Yin and Restorative Yoga program…" says owner, Linda McGrath. Current and future members will also be excited by the addition to plenty of parking, and private showers.
The new YogaSource Boutique and Lounge will be open weekdays from 10am to 7pm and weekends from 10am to 5pm. The inspiration for the Boutique was the "concept stores" that have sprung up all over Europe – a mini-department store in a boutique environment. "We wanted to offer a place to relax, enjoy a cup of tea, and peruse the usual yoga accessories, books and media as well as the latest in weekend and yoga fashions for both men and women, skin care, jewelry, furniture and art gathered from our exotic retreats around the world."
The most decadent addition to the studio must be the boutique Balinese style spa, blending the best of Eastern philosophy with Western science. The Spa at YogaSource offers a full menu of facials, massage and salon services with the best organic and results-driven skincare product lines from all over the world. The approach is individually tailored with a particular emphasis on natural beauty, rejuvenation and indulgence, elevating the experience from merely special to truly unique, especially when coupled with a yoga class before or after.
This new YogaSource day resort welcomes all students— whether you're a seasoned yogi or trying yoga for the first time, the instructors at YogaSource are ready to teach you, and create challenges for all student levels. Whether you just come for a class or spend the day, the focus is always on bringing wellbeing and balance to your life.
