How our 500+ program works

  • Application to the 500+ Hour Program is available year-round.
  • You can build your own program from our extensive offering of modules.
  • A non-refundable enrollment fee of $195 is required to process your application and periodically review and advise your course selection in order to ensure it meets the standards of other governing bodies, such as the YogaAlliance. We will not charge your card until your application has been reviewed, your advisor has crafted your curriculum plan, and you are accepted into the program.
  • All other payments are spread out to pay-as-you-go per module.
  • We have chosen not to make any of the modules in our Advanced Program required, in order to give you as much flexibility as possible in crafting a curriculum that suits you perfectly. That said, in order to fulfill the requirements of the YogaAlliance for hours with primary faculty, we have differentiated all the modules in our advanced program as being CORE (with primary faculty) or ELECTIVE (with other faculty). When selecting your schedule, look to create a good balance of core and electives. Our Teacher Training Advisor is available to help you at every step of the way through email at teachertraining@yogasource.com or by appointment in person.
  • Graduates of our 200 Hour training can count their 200 hours towards our 500 hour certificate and beyond. Graduates of another 200 hour YogaAlliance registered school may pursue a 300 hour Certificate through our program and combine both certificates with the YogaAlliance for 500 hour registry.
  • Credit for other prior hours of training may be granted upon review of your application.
  • We recommend a 60 hour or 100 hour Mentorship with our senior faculty. Mentorships are a valuable way of growing as a teacher, gaining unique insider access to a senior teacher’s methodology, and accumulating a significant amount of contact hours towards your certificate. Currently, half of the mentorships are also CORE contact hours.
  • Certificates are issued for the completion of the Foundational 200 hour trainings only.
  • Upon completion of required hours and/or homework for any 500 hour module, participants will need to contact the presenter of each training if they wish to obtain a certificate of completion.
  • To receive credit, attendance to all segments is required unless otherwise pre-approved by the teacher. Participants will need to ensure they sign the attendance sheets for every segment.

I have been passionately involved in Yoga for over 25 years. I guess this makes me a senior and well seasoned teacher! I stumbled upon Yoga and Meditation in college when my family life and health were falling apart, and realized I was going to need strong tools to manage stress and maintain my well being. My 1st class awakened me to spirit, and to new places in my body/mind. I was instantly hooked and found the practice to be a soothing salvation, a trusted therapist - my God, Goddess, and very best friend. Yoga and all that it represents allowed me to see "the story" but connect to my soul. For me, this was and continues to be Nirvana!

Erin Matteucci

Erin Matteucci

Erin’s yogic journey began with a beginner’s video and a carefully-placed mat on her bedroom floor. It definitely wasn't love at first chaturanga-but posture by posture and class by class, she felt her body begin to feel lighter, quieter and stronger. Craving the relaxed exhaustion and focused quiet mind in her own body, she teaches from that space with a consuming gentle presence that immediately puts you at ease on your yoga mat. Erin believes that it is through alignment, focus and intention that you find yourself- Hold Warrior I for 10 breaths and meet who you really are! A power yoga devotee, she thinks that Baron said it best, "steady breath, steady gaze, steady mind = steady practice". Can we move with grace even when challenged by a practice we once moved through with ease? We are different every day, every moment. It is with acceptance that you grow in your physical practice, with awareness that you learn to make your movements purposeful, and with an open heart that you take your yoga practice off the mat. Erin holds two 200-hour teaching certifications and has been teaching power yoga for the last 6 years.

Jenn Field

Jenn has been a student of Bikram Yoga for the past 11 years and a full-time instructor for the past 3 years. She received her certification directly through Bikram in 2008 and furthered her education in the Advanced Bikram series in 2010. She has also been certified in the practice of Vinyasa Yoga, trained in India in the practice of Vipassana medition, and holds a B.S / B.A from Duke University. Her additional knowledge only enhances the way she teaches the Bikram series.

Jenn's most recent passion is delving into the lineage and history of both Bikram and Vinyasa yoga to satisfy her curiosity about the differences in alignment and language. She believes that to truly understand and teach each type of yoga it helps to understand their different histories. At YogaSource Jenn teaches a traditional class in the sense that she does not stray from the original 26 asanas. She believes that Bikram and his guru, Bishnu Ghosh, created the 26 asana series for a specific reason and she has a deep respect for the order of the asanas and specific alignment of each asana. With that being said, she also understands that each body is different and she is always ready to help those students (either in class or privately) modify their poses for injury or to suit their own body, while keeping with the proper alignment and spirit of Bikram Yoga. Jenn teaches 7 classes a week, a number of private lessons a month, and leads the Advanced Bikram workshops at YogaSource. She gives special thanks to the amazing yogini, Linda McGrath, whose advice has led her to hone her teaching skills since she joined the YogaSource Bikram team. When she is not taking an amazing class at YogaSource, Jenn is spending time with her boyfriend and their french bulldog, Mishka.

Your breath is unique in all the Universe. It came in with you on the day you were born and has sustained you until NOW, which is all that is." "Integration" is the word that comes to me on all levels about my practice of yoga. Growing up in the Deep South as a dancer and cheerleader during mass desegregation, my first profound spiritual experiences in those times are the thread I trace to NOW. Through my adult life,I have pursued sacred psychology in the passionate study of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and Jean Shinoda-Bolen. I am enchanted and grateful to find the myths, symbols, and imaginings alive and well in me.

Samantha Boozer

Sam’s yoga journey started with Bikram yoga. Recovering from a life threatening illness at age 18, she had lost most of her body’s muscle mass. Shortly after she was given the OK to start being active again, she stepped foot in her first Bikram class and fell in love with yoga. She loved that it challenged her physically, mentally, and emotionally as well as helped her to heal her body and regain her strength. From the solid foundation a Bikram practice provided her she found a love for other styles of yoga including vinyasa, power, and ashtanga. After experiencing all the benefits yoga had to offer, she knew she wanted to learn more and share it with others. In August 2013 she completed her 200-hour Teacher Training with Mark Stephens and early the next year completed the Hot Yoga Training with Jenn Field at YogaSource Los Gatos. She is currently working towards her 500-hour certification through YogaSource’s Teacher Training program.

Why Take The YogaSource Training

Video Overlay

"... I am super grateful of the opportunity to practice teaching. That made a great difference in my progression. By far that was the key to your program – giving us all the opportunity to teach and get used to speaking, yoging, putting together sequences, etc. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for not just filling our brains! You let our brains activate our bodies."

— K.

"I think it was good for me even though I am already teaching (and the training was probably less stressful for me than most because of that) but I feel it gave me another way of looking at sequences and taught me how to develop balanced classes. I also just liked hanging out with everyone and laughing and learning more about yoga and its history, influences and where it's going."

— E.

"What amazes me most is the transformation that occurred with each individual student within a short period of time. It was a whirlwind of fascinating information, techniques and concentrated physical practice and intense focus. It amazes me how far we have come and what growth lies ahead… This training was one of the best things I've done and I will be forever grateful for it. It was fun, but challenging, and certainly placed me outside of my comfort zone a few times – I loved every minute of it, absolutely! My own practice has grown more than I could have imagined."

— S.
