Friday Nite: “BREATHE IN… BLISS OUT” Yoga Nidra & Conscious Relaxation
Come learn the age defying secrets of Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep", and master the art of “Blissing Out.” Proper breathing provides a fast track towards unwinding stress. Muscular tension, postural imbalances, and day-to-day anxiety all impede the breath’s flow. Learn how to breathe correctly with sedating exercises from yoga, physical therapy, meditation, and massage. Great to do on a Friday nite – you will feel deeply relaxed and inspiring by this event!
Saturday: YOGA TUNE UP® All About the HIPS
Locked hips wreak havoc on the practicing yogi. Tight hamstrings can lead to back pain and postural imbalances, while bound hip flexors limit abdominal strength and backbend fluidity. Even hyper mobile students can have issues with stability. Jill specializes in opening these blocked areas so that movement becomes effortless. This workshop addresses range of motion and hip awakening from every conceivable angle. Exercises are derived from Hatha yoga, orthopedic physical therapy, and creative experimentation. Jill’s signature Yoga Tune Up® and Core Integration exercises are the highlight of this course.
Sunday: YOGA TUNE UP® The Backbend Booster
Backbends are some of the most spellbinding and mesmerizing of all yoga asanas. Unfortunately, they are also notorious for shredding the body when practiced unsafely. For both beginners and adepts, backbends can be a confusing riddle to integrate into a complete practice. In this workshop, you will learn to safely prepare your spine, shoulders, core, and hips, for every category of backbend. The class systematically reveals the body’s trouble spots, and reinforces them with new options of safe, heart opening movements from Jill’s signature Yoga Tune Up® series. About Jill:
Embodying 22 years of expertise, Jill Miller’s yoga classes synthesize a vast repertoire of movement arts including; Modern Dance, Pilates, Breath work, Shiatsu, and Butoh. Jill choreographs a total experience for each individual’s body, mind, and spirit. Her yoga strengthens you from the inside out – removing tension from the body, releasing the entrapments of the mind and reconnecting you to your core in a thoroughly conscious way. Jill’s enthusiasm for yoga is contagious. She inspires all levels from newcomer to teacher with her daring, playful, and highly original classes.
Jill teaches workshops and retreats internationally, is a longtime faculty member of the Omega Institute and has traveled nationally choreographing programs for the Discovery Health Channel.
